TheRoom Radio #003 – YYIOY

YYIOY (@yyioy) is a project by Yohei Oki, co-director, and designer with Miriam Sanz of the clothing brand, SHOOP (@shoopclothing). A brand with a shared base between Tokyo and Madrid, whose collections are characterized by mixing various genres and cultures around the world. It is a brand that is inspired by the world around us, reinterpreting, and building pieces with delicacy, elegance, and attention to detail. YYIOY began his connection with music at an early age, playing piano at 4 years old and later studying classical music and jazz. He has performed as a DJ in several cities such as New York, Paris, Tokyo, Osaka, and Barcelona, among others. He has also played in several fashion-related events: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Stüssy, Puma, and the Vogue Fashion Night Out, etc. Yohei is part of Jazzz (@jazzzcollective), a Madrid-based collective focused on electronic music, but with important references in HipHop, House, Juke/Footwork, Bass music, and R&B.
