For SS24 Toga present a collaborative capsule between cult Japanese label Toga and English record label Junior Boy’s Own. Commemorative Coach Jackets, graphic t-shirts and an exclusive reprint of Boy’s Own “The Complete Fanzine 1986-1996”. To celebrate, we caught up with the Boy’s Own crew to talk all things club culture, doing what you love for a job, new artists, and more
BOY’S OWN was a fanzine started by a group of young clubbers in 1986. The crew consisted of Terry Farley, Andrew Weatherall, Cymon Eckel and Steven Hall, who were invited by fellow Chelsea fan to attend the early acid house club nights held in London. As the crew became more involved in clubbing, the fanzine began to cover the local music, fashion, and football scene, becoming a key chronicler of the British clubbing culture and influencing a wave of similar fanzines across the country. In 1992 Terry Farley and Steven Hall launched Junior Boy’s Own a record label specialising in electronic dance music. Underworld, The Chemical Brothers and X-Press 2 are some of their most known artists.
