A Tokyo-based brand with London influences
Cav Empt injects graphic heavy designs into reinterpreted menswear classics with relevant social commentaries. Founded in 2012 in the acid depths of digital hyperreality, Cav Empt is the brainchild of enigmatic graphic design legend SK8THING (A Bathing Ape, Billionaire Boys Club, Human Made and WTAPS) and Toby Feltwell (Mo’Wax Records). Cav Empt gets its name from the Latin phrase caveat emptor, a legal term meaning “let the buyer beware,” a concept in line with the brand’s DNA of creative freedom. The brand is characterized by high-quality streetwear classics, military outerwear and American workwear shapes filtered through a highly sophisticated graphic language of disruption.
