While baseball comes to mind as a classic example of athletic Americana, it’s also become one of the most popular sports in Japan over the last 150 years or so. The new collab collection from US sportswear icon Champion and Japanese heavy hitter Beams is a celebration of both countries’ love for the sport, reimagining classic athletic gear with a progressive Japanese eye for design and detail. The collection is themed around the imaginary ‘Tokyo Beams’ baseball team, mixing references from team uniforms, practice kit and fan gear with a vibrant colour palette and a healthy dash of logo overload.
