Summer kicks off with a bold collaboration between Aries and Umbro.
For many years, British sportswear Umbro has excelled as the heart and soul of football. A long experience trajectory backs up this fact, in which the brand has been able to see all highs and lows football has to offer. This new season, London genderless streetwear brand ARIES brings to the table a collaborative capsule collection along with Umbro, presenting a 10-piece football-oriented collection.
Aries image development has evolved these past years, positioning itself as a very unique brand. Their brand Imaginarium combines an ongoing love of trash culture, outsider art, and illustration. And this collection is not an exception to the rule. With a clear mix of gabber + rave + football subculture, the capsule features classic football jerseys on one side, with red, pink, black, and white colorways. And on the other side a pixelated graphic training set, and a contemporary take on a classic Umbro drill top and pants.
“Playing amateur football was off-limits during lockdown, so we started playing football with our dogs instead,” explains Aries founder Sofia Prantera. “While researching the creative with Lea, we found amazing footage of known footballers like Messi training with their dogs. This combined with the beautiful work of Dutch artist Rineke Dijkstra became the inspiration for the project.”
This capsule’s lookbook was shot by Lea Colombo, well-known for her contemporary image approach and treatment: intimate images and psychedelic edits, that highlight Aries’ unique aesthetic. As an addition to the still images, a short film supports the drop and features a group of football enthusiasts playing football with their dogs.

The Aries x Umbro capsule collection releases this Thursday, June 24th, and will be available online at www.theroombarcelona.com or at our store in Barcelona.
